Background[]

Raised in Merredin, a country town in Western Australia, Nicole Trunfio made the gutsy move to relocate to New York as a teen after winning Channel Ten’s Search for a Supermodel competition in 2002.

Over a decade later she is now a prominent figure in the fashion industry and has worked with some of the industry’s leading photographers including Patrick Demarchelier, Peter Lindbergh, Steven Klein, Greg Kadel, Terry Richardson, Alexei Hay, Karl Lagerfeld, Guy Aroch, Patrick Shaw, Michael Saunders, Pascal Chevalier, Max Cardelli, and the late, legendary Richard Avedon.

Nicole has appeared on the cover of Australian Vogue and Elle. She has also been featured in the inside pages of Vogue (Australian, British, Italian, German, Russian, and Spanish), Elle (French, Italian, Australian and German), Harper’s Bazaar (American, Australian), Marie Claire, Jalouse, Flair, French and Allure.

Nicole has walked the international runways for designers such as Versace, Chanel, Fendi, Gucci, Valentino, Christian Dior, Christian Lacroix, John Galliano, Dolce and Gabbana, Missoni, Roberto Cavalli, Oscar De la Renta, Sonia Rykiel, Costume National, Tommy Hilfiger, Michael Kors, Blumarine and D&G.

Nicole often returns to Australia for work and has recently shot campaigns for Isola by Megan Gale swimwear and Pleasure State lingerie. She is also an ambassador for Kookai and Lavazza.

In 2009 Nicole appeared as a model mentor in the second season of Bravo TV’s Make Me a Supermodel in the US. That same year she appeared in the Australian film Two Fists, One Heart featuring Jessica Marais and Tim Minchin. Her next project is a role alongside Sam Worthington in his new movie Paper Planes, with production commencing early 2014.

When not jetting around the world for work, Nicole enjoys photography, playing the guitar, reading and writing poetry, running, and other extreme sports such as dirt biking and skateboarding. She is the lead singer of Henry Blak, a band based in NYC, and has also founded the successful fine-jewellery label Trunfio Jewels.

Nicole currently lives in New York with her musician boyfriend Gary Clark Jr.
